We offer classes for every level, and each class is capped at 15 or 20 people (depending on the studio) so everyone can get the individual attention they need. A barre fitness class that fuses ballet, yoga and pilates to provide a fluid and calm dance conditioning class which is taught to an uplifting playlist. The class begins with a Vinyasa Flow inspired sequence designed to warm up your entire body, prepare you for the work to follow and to develop your upper body strength at the same time as moving fluidly through the sequence. This is followed by half an hour of classical barre exercises designed to work the glutes, quads and calves, 15 minutes of Floor Barre engaging the core and reinforcing the correct technique, alignment and placement whilst isolating the correct muscle groups to perform an action or movement, we finish with a short section of Centre Barre to get you moving through the space before ending with the Black's Barre Reverance.
Monday 6.30 - 7.30pm @ Stages School of Dance, Intermediate Contemporary 14+
An adult Contemporary Dance class that is a dynamic and fun exploration of Contemporary styles and techniques. Simple movement phrases and tasks are built upon to develop greater awareness of the body in space and in relation to others. Floor, centre and travelling exercises lead to efficiency of movement through rhythmical and free flowing dance sequences.

StrictlyFit has been redesigned and choreographed as a unique Studio Velo dance fitness class, if you love Strictly this is the class for you.
StrictlyVELO is a high energy, upbeat class designed to raise your heart rate, burn calories and improve your fitness and is suitable for all levels of ability. The class fuses steps from Salsa, Jive, Samba, American Smooth along with other Latin and Ballroom styles and is taught to a motivating and dynamic playlist.
Come along and get fit without even realising you're working!
Wednesday 7-8pm @ Startastic, Cullercoats
Floor-Barre consists of exercises based on Ballet steps performed lying and sitting on the floor. It's an ideal way to prepare and maintain the body, strengthen, lengthen and tone, whilst increasing your flexibility. Our class is suitable for all levels from beginners to professional dancers and is a great way of returning to exercise after an injury or time off.
In this class you will improve your Ballet technique by working isolated parts of the body without tensing, as you might when standing, resulting in a safe and very effective workout. It is especially beneficial for Beginners.
Saturday 1-2pm @ Studio Velo in Whitley Bay
Enjoy the fluidity and grace of Ballet in this accessible body conditioning class.
Centre Barre is taught completely from the centre of the studio, it is a complete body workout that is suitable for you even if you haven’t had any dance experience. The focus of the session is the core, the aim being to develop strength and stability from the centre outwards and to improve your posture, poise elegance and physique. .
TOTALBarre is an entire hour of intense Barre work consisting of a series of exercises using repetitive isometric movements to develop strength, lean muscles and to help improve flexibility and posture.

A fun introduction to Contemporary Dance practitioners and techniques. Kids get creative while developing physically in this non stop dance class.
Begin your weekend by mastering your mind and body in Beverley's Hatha class. Work through the Asana's to develop strength, flexibility and improve focus, and develop a greater understanding of the origins of Hatha Yoga as you're freed from the past weeks events and dramas in our Friday evening class.

Taster class 22nd of April 9.30 am
This class is a fun introduction to the world of Dance and Theatre for children aged 8-12yrs and aims to develop a young dancers technique in a range of dance styles and disciplines, improve the young dancers fitness and flexibility as well as boosting their confidence and self esteem in our fun relaxed non exam based class.
This is a Black's Barre class at Studio Velo, for health and safety reasons we will not be permitting drop in places for the VeloKIDS classes so all places must be booked in advance of attendance.
